B Psych (Hons), Grad Dip Rehab Couns, MAPS
I am a registered Psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia and Member of the Australian Psychological Society. I completed my Bachelor of Psychology with Honours at James Cook University in Cairns in 2012 and my Graduate Diploma of Rehabilitation Counselling at the University of Tasmania in Hobart in 2014. I became a General Psychologist through the 4+2 internship pathway which involved completing over 3080 hours of supervised practice and training in psychological assessment and intervention, counselling techniques, and passing the National Psychology Exam. Throughout my training and employment I have gained extensive experience and competency in delivering psychological assessments, intervention and counselling support to clients across occupational / employment and clinical settings.
I was raised in a farming family in the North West of Tasmania. In recent years I returned to my original hometown in the South East where I am now delighting in raising my own young family together with my partner on our farm. Rural health has always been important to me and was a significant motivator and research focus point throughout my studies and training to become a Psychologist. I am truly honoured to be able to deliver psychological and counselling support to the members of our South East Tasmanian communities. Since becoming a parent I have relished engaging in further education and training so I can now deliver perinatal mental health counselling support to new and expectant parents in our region. I am passionate about learning and developing new skills to further my personal and professional growth and will continue to do so to bring further value to the support I can offer my clients.
I absolutely love what I do! I respect the courage it takes someone to seek help and support. I genuinely enjoy being able to listen to and learn from my client's experiences and offer them support to navigate their way through the array of challenges they encounter. I believe no presenting issue is ever the same, every person's experience is different, therefore so is every treatment journey. Engaging evidence-based therapies I tailor my treatment approach to suit each client's specific needs and goals with the aim to empower them, develop their inner-strengths, and equip them with pragmatic skills to enhance their health and well-being.
